On fire and burning
After last weekend's barnstorming performance against Manorians, the Reserves continued their good form by starting quickly against the division's bottom side. It took just three minutes for top scorer Charlie Heath to finish a sweeping move and open the scoring. A mere two minutes later a corner dropped to Zach Kinnell-Harry in the Tollingtonians box, where he rolled the ball to the edge of the area for Josep Mari to strike first time into the bottom corner. Another sweeping move found Danny Isichei on the byline, whose cut back was riffled into the top corner by Kinnell-Harry, with another two minute goal flurry seeing Chris Scherer put Heath through to make it 4-0 inside 15 minutes. Heath completed his hat-trick and added a fourth goal for him personally shortly after, as the opposition wilted to the early pressure. The pace of the game decreased thereafter, with the game effectively over, but there were still moments of sublime skill. Heath curled a ball with the outside of his foot to find Kinnell-Harry in the box, with the latter chesting down and volleying into the net for an outrageous goal. Heath then notched another to make it 8-0 by half time. Tollingtonians kept going to their credit and forced Steve Kennedy-Clarke into several good saves to keep them at bay. Mari got the scoring in the second half underway, with Scherer unselfishly squaring to the former for a tap in. Mari was the second player to complete his hat-trick with twelve minutes to go. Sami Bekir then got off the mark for the season, as Kinnell-Harry squared for him to finish, before Heath once again beat the defence to provide Kinnell-Harry with an easy opportunity to complete the team's third hat-trick of the game. Next week's opponents are one of the teams still capable of catching the Reserves and will have home advantage. Despite the two great results in a row, Mill Hill will be looking to stop the juggernaut in its tracks. It will be a very different kind of test, and one that the Reserves will have to prove they are capable of rising to.
