Excellent

Today was our first game of the season which saw us up against a 2 div team in the LOB Cup. I got to the club early to collect my thoughts and I got told what a good team they are and we are up against it today. Lads turned up early and everyone was in a good mood and ready to go. I told the lads the formation the starting 11 and the game plan to work and battle as a unit, play with no fear and have fun. We warmed up correctly and our oppo come over strolling like they already won the game. Kick off and the lads where solid and the oppo where under the cosh but we could not hit the target but the way the lads where playing at times was outstanding. 30 minutes water break and lads where told keep doing what your doing as the oppo cant handle our game play and stick to the game plan. Sub was made and 5 minutes in to the start Isacc with a wonder strike makes it 1 0 and a well deserved goal. The back 4 where playing excellent winning everything in the air and Alex was that bored he was reading a paper (haha),the midfield and wingers where also playing outstanding football battling for all the dead balls and 1 2 touch was outstanding, isacc takes on 2 or 3 players through ball to Dicey and Dicey makes it 2 0. Half Time Lads where told battle battle battle and with this team what you ask of them they do it and it's a pleasure to have a bunch of lads and team mates like that. The ball was passed to Dicey on the left hand side and he delivers the ball from about 30 yards out to Danny on the wing who controlled the ball well and lobs the keeper 3 0. Changes made saw Vel and Corey come on, oppo put us under the cosh for about 5 minutes which they get a corner and for some reason Vel thought it was ok to knee a player in the leg and gets a yellow and then he heads the ball in top left hand corner to make it no not 4 0 you guessed own goal 3 1. Oppo put a little more pressure on and the striker hit the ball clean and I thought 3 2 but no wonder keeper Alex dived to his top right to save an amazing shot and an amazing save. Ben came back on for fresh legs and the player on his side said we are rubbish even though we are playing them off the park and 3 1 up so Ben taught him a lesson got the ball made the guy dizzy and sick due to him chasing ben to get the ball but oppo was out paced he crosses the ball in the box and Dicey gets his 2nd of the game and 4 1. Full Time The lads have nothing to fear as if they play like they did every week with confidence and belief then we will be a force to reckon with. 1st game under our belts but take week by week and we work harder Proud of every single player even the players that did not play coming to support the team Well done Gents very happy manager MOTM Was really close but Martin edged it.
