Excellent performance
After a good win in the league last week it was the reserve XI's chance to build on that performance with an away trip against UCL in the LOB cup. The game started well with Parms having the lion share of possession controlling the game and limiting the opposition to less than a handful of chances. As much as the visitors had the game under control they just weren’t sharp enough in the final third. Too many times they got in to good positions but couldn’t find the final pass. That all changed in the second half after a constructive half time team talk. Taking in to account what was said at half time the team played a little bit more direct and it didn’t take long for Parms to take the lead with Everton Martins picking up the ball on the half way line and threading a ball through the lines to release Charlie Heath who made no mistake and calmly slotted the ball past the keeper. A few minutes later the same two players combined after some excellent play out from the back starting with skipper for the day Chris Kane, with Heath put through for a second time by Everton. Using his pace to get away from his marker Heath finished once more with superb composure. The opposition were by this time out on their feet and it was only five minutes until Parms found the net for number three with Adem Bekir playing a one two with Heath on the edge of the box and then rolling the ball round the keeper and tapping in for an easy finish. You would think at 3-0 Parms would settle in and see the game out but the visitors sensed blood and it wasn’t long before some more good passing out from the back saw Bekir turn on halfway and play Heath in with a perfectly weighted through ball which saw the latter get a second hat-trick for the season in his second game with another accomplished finish. From that moment on there was good game management and excellent work by the midfield and defence to get our first competitive clean sheet of the season. A solid 90 minutes with a devastating 15 minute spell! Atiba Jackson managed his first 15 minutes of the season returning from injury and with other players still to come back in it can only get better from here. On to next week!
