Colin Howard finally leaves the Douglas Eyre Sports Centre after 25 years as groundsman having moved in when the building was erected in 1988. He has been a great supporter of our club as well as many others and Schools whose many pupils have played at the ground over the years.

At his retirement party last Saturday he was feted by many of his friends he has made over the years and who wished him well. He moves to his new home with his partner Sue on Mersea Island near Colchester. It will be a well earned rest for someone who retires at 68 having been head groundsman for over 49 years.

 On behalf of the club we wish him well for a long and healthy retirement which he thoroughly deserves. We will all miss him!
