Still firing blanks

The undefeated run comes to an abrupt end with a disappointing result. Parms started the game with a changed side from previous weeks and failed to retain possession in the early minutes, although once settled ball retention improved with the wing backs always available as an outlet. The oppositions first telling attacks came from the left and right hand side, seeing Ben leave his legs so open that most thought he was considering moving to Amsterdam's red light district for a career change. The opposition scored from a well parried shot by Lloyd "the Knockout" Hallowell, although a goal from not recovering the "second ball", as had been the issue in the opening exchanges, left Colin Staines pulling his (remaining) hairs out. Mike Morgan burst through one on one but failed to convert, albeit a good save from the keeper. Injury struck, with Carl "the Scotchegg" Staines leaving the field with a recurring hamstring problem...although he thinks he may be fit for five a side in the week. The second half opened up as Parms pressed for an equaliser and the opposition looked to double their lead. The Knockout used his feline like agility to keep the opposition out at all costs, earning a man of the match performance along the way. The introduction of Chris Scherer late in the second half injected an additional forward thinking approach, but too little too late. All in all disappointing result based on the performance
