Great second half comeback

A poor start to the game which had as much to do with the unfavourable wind as to the fact that we were half asleep for the first 20 minutes resulting in the concession of two sloppy goals, although one looked like it may have been marginally offside. OPFC 6ths rallied round and some lovely interplay up top created the chances in the first half and we were actually unlucky not to be level going into the break, especially after a James White shot was cleared off the line after a great solo run from Charlie. Kennerly Cassius got us back in the game with a fine finish to another slick counter. Noting that the opposition centre-backs were struggling to handle one striker, we switched it up to two up top with a ginger haired fella called Ron coming off the bench. Within minutes we were level after a beautiful piece of wizadry from Zach, flicking the ball through to Charlie who scored with a clincial finish into the top right hand corner of the goal. From that point on we were unrelenting and the momentum was with us scoring a further three goals without reply. Charlie added the third before the gaffer helped himself to a tap-in, and Kennerly left four defenders with twisted blood as he danced through the defence to rap up the scoring. Both he and Charlie could (and probably should) have had a hat-trick apiece, but the woodwork and a miss in front of goal denied them. A solid second half performance from the defence (George doing his best Ali impression) and Shaf doing his 'doggies' in the middle of the park provided the platform. Man of the Match to Ben Davies at right-back for quality going forward and back, and for continuing his duracell battery impression; but mainly for the fact that he managed to keep his shin-pads on for the entire match. He did lose a running shoe though. OPFC 6ths will now be keen to refocus their attention on the league and reclaim top spot next week.
