Loss on penalties is so tough
Unfortunately another very winnable game slides by. Yet again the boys commitment to each other once they're on the pitch is second to none. The problem is getting them there consistently. We started the game with only nine bodies on the pitch and played an attacking 4-4-0 system, which through hard work and determination, plus the addition of 2 more bodies after about 30 mins. brought a 0-0 half time situation and even managed 2/3 chances of our own. We then proceeded to start the second half in a lively manner, creating more chances but failing to make the most of them and then falling behind, caught out on the break with the old sucker punch. Nevertheless this spurred the boys on and within minutes equalised with a rasping shot from Mooro that exploded in to the net off the post. We continued to have the edge for the rest of the 90 minutes but were unable to add to our tally. Extra time came and went with the woodwork of their goal being the dominant factor although to be fair they had a couple of half chances on the break but 120 minutes proved to be an unsatisfactory stalemate especially from our point of view. The penalty shoot-out once again proved to be our Achilles heel and despite our dominance overall came away with nothing to show for it. I have no doubt our luck will change soon and then our season can really begin
