Champions after 7 goal thumping
The 8ths completed the quadruple before next weeks final double header game v Albanians. The 8ths thought they would need a result in one of the final 2 games to win the league but after 2nd place Leyton dropped points to Old Kings they are crowned AFC North 8 Division Champions! In the 1st half v Southgate, Old Parms 8ths had plenty of possession against a big physical side but never created to many clear cut chances. The breakthrough however came with the 8ths best move of the game. The 8ths won the ball high up the pitch and the ball was played to Mike Diebelius on the right who then played in Ciaran Foster who made the overlapping run, Ciaran cut the ball back to Harry Sach in the box who took one touch before blasting in to the top corner to make it 1.0. The 8ths continued to dominate possession but the 1st half ended 1.0. In the 2nd half the 8ths constant pressure and possession took its toll on Southgate and the 8ths managed to pull away adding 6 more goals. Harry Sach added another and Ryan Franklin scored 2 more to take his tally to 44 for the season! Francis Conlan also kept his goal scoring form up with a quality near post header from a Harry Sach corner, Mike Diebilius got back in to goal scoring with a fierce shot the keeper just couldn't keep out, and finally Archie Bostock who hadn't scored since the preseason friendlies scored probably the best goal of the game. The ball was drilled out wide to Juan Tenerio who held the ball up waiting for support before laying it back to Archie who took a first time shot in to the corner which the Southgate keeper had no chance stopping. The game ended 7.0 and Old Parmiterians 8ths are Champions! Thanks and well done to everyone this season, lets go out and enjoy next weeks final games!
