Lead squandered again
After the performance of the season Tuesday night, this match should have been entered with confidence and good spirits...it was for the first half, where Parms dominated, played great passing football and took a deserved 2-0 lead. A mistake just before half time gave Woodhouseians their only opportunity of the half, which they took. Parms had numerous guilt edged opportunities to extend their lead, but squandered them. In the second half, the desire and effort shown by some was unacceptable, instead taking their frustrations out on one another and the referee, something I do not associate with this team at all. The footballing ability is there in bucket loads, but certain players need to address their mental failings, as that is what allowed a far weaker opposition the chance to score two goals in two minutes, with only five left on the clock. Our first defeat since the end of October...incredibly disappointing. The team can still finish third and need to rectify matters in their last two games, and special thanks and praise needs to go to the lads that stayed and played another 90 minutes for the reserve team in their great 2-2 draw. Well done Brad Hammond, Eoin McWilliams, Ewan Macaulay, Tony Fraser, Joe Collins and Tom Blisters Quinn.
