Eight for the 8ths!
Eight goals for the 8ths kept their title challenge on track! Too many goals to get through so will keep this report short. First mention goes to Juan Tenerio who opened the scoring with a great strike from just inside the area. Juan struck the bouncing ball left footed and the ball swerved and dipped in to the back of the net. The 8ths dominated the first half with their passing football on the Douglas 3G surface and added 3 more goals with Harry Sach getting 2 and Ryan Frankin the other to end the first half 4.0. One of the best goals of the game came in to first half with a great passing move involved with Ciaran, Ryan and Harry Sach who was there to finish it off. The 2nd half continued the same way with the 8ths dominating possession and adding 4 more goals. Ryan added another to his tally this season with a quality chip over the keeper and Goalkeeper Ben Davidson who switched with Richard Jackson to play CB got his 2nd goal of the season! Ben was unlucky not to score earlier after he had one chance cleared off the line and a header from a corner just over the bar. Finally he got his reward for looking dangerous from the set plays and forced in a lose ball from the corner. The final goals of the game came from Joe Nelson who kept his goal scoring form going from the previous midweek game and Harry Sach completed his hattrick after a good run from Juan Tenerio. The match ended 8.0 and Man of the Match was Harry Sach with 3 goals and 2 assists! Well done everyone, a win v Davenant will get us to the top of the table!
