Good win seals 6 points

The 2nd game in this double header started off with Leyton bringing in 6 new players. The 8ths who only had 12 available this week rotated the players around to keep them as fresh as possible. The 8ths started the 2nd game with George Maskell up front who broke the deadlock early after good work by Juan Tenerio on the left. Juan went past the defender and cut the ball back from the byline which the Leyton keeper fumbled and George was there to punish the mistake. The first half ended 1.0 with again the 8ths looking comfortable and dangerous on the counter. In the 2nd half Leyton had to chase the game which gave the 8ths more space when breaking forward. The 8ths switched Mike Diebelius upfront to use his pace on the counter and this paid off when Mike Diebelius was sent through one on one with the keeper. Mike managed to keep his footing as he rounded the keeper and tapped in to make it 2.0. Right on the end of the 2nd half Mike was put through again, this time the Leyton defender was not letting him past and took him out in the box to give the 8ths a last minute penalty. Mike took the penalty himself and probably scored one of the worst penalties! Straight down the middle the ball squirmed through the keeper and just about over the line to wrap up the game 3.0 and earn Old Parms 8ths 6 points against the league leaders! Well done to everyone who played, playing 2 games back to back is not easy with 12 players but everyone gave 100% and was all important in getting the 6 points. Man of the Match was Sonny for his performance in both games.
