You can't put a price on team spirit!

Parms preparation was far from ideal & it showed in the first half as Lea Valley quickly took a 2-0 lead. Parms failed to put pressure on the oppo & were not following their runners in a very uncharacteristic display. We were thrown a lifeline when Vickers lobbed the ball over the GK only to see the defender slap the ball off the line with his hand! He was dismissed & Dushku converted the resulting penalty via a rebound after the GK saved his attempt. Parms again conceded before half time to make it 3-1. A very honest talk at half time reminded ourselves of what our qualities are & discussed how we needed to be a lot more intense, give the oppo no time on the ball & elevate the quality of our defending. Within 2 minute we had pulled a goal back as the ball was put into the box, the ball looped off the GK and Vickers was on hand to contort his body and execute an overhead kick into the back of the net from 6 yards (definitely an overhead kick). With Ewan encouraging the team with his Scottish/Braveheart cries of 'let's f***ing have it' & B.Tynan miraculously still able for run Parms were in the ascendancy. We equalised through a fantastic corner from our continental genius Jose, his wonderful delivery was converted at the back post by J.Goy with a firm header planted into the back of the net, as long as Goy can keep his arms to himself we hope to see many more goals from him. The winner came via our goal scoring machine B.Dushku, another magnificent corner from Jose led to a scramble and Dushku was hand to confidently take his chance to spark unbelievable scenes, pure joy was seen on Jose's face and even Kammy was in such awe that he was unable to relay what had happened to Jeff and the team. Despite a few nervy moments and a great save from the ever dependable northern net minder A.Bensley. Dick of the Day was Emmanuel for thinking we only drew and Man of the Match went to J.Jolly for a solid debut . Big thanks to JC.
