Thumping 5-0 victory catapults us into final

A crushing 5-0 win sent Old Parms 6ths into the AFA Cup Final after a dominant and aggressive display. We opened the scoring early on in the the first half after Le Beau received the ball in between the lines of defence and midfield before threading a perfectly weighted pass to Charlie Heath, who was able to curl past the on-rushing keeper without breaking stride. Heath notched another late in the half to give us a comfortable 2-0 lead going into the break. Steve Pryor typically took one for the team in the first half, winning the header but taking a full boot to the chest for his troubles, with the scars to prove it! The pit bull was up soon enough though, and his grit and determination was emblematic of the team's performance as a whole. We started the second half with renewed attacking fervour with Tom Power showing superb willingness to get forward from right back in a passionate display in both defence and attack, earning him the Man of the Match award. Fresh back from his sabbatical, Zach Pearson picked up where he left off with a simple finish through the goalkeeper after some good work down the right. Aaron Spencer then bagged his first of the season, slaloming in past three defenders from the right touchline before his deflected left foot shot found the inside of the post. Shaf Shakur added a superb left footed free kick to cap a wonderful exhibition full of quality and determination from front to back. Bring on the final.
