Great performance takes team into Final!

The 8ths are in the OB Cup Final second year running! Well done to everyone who played Saturday and through the cup run to get us there. We have now got a chance to get revenge on last years finals loss. The 8ths dominated the game for 90 minutes and East Barnet did not have many chances apart from a good long range effort which Ben Davidson tipped over the bar early in the 1st half. The 8ths finally got the break through half way through the 1st half when Mike Diebelius who looked dangerous on the right coming back to his old form before injury, put a great ball in which the East Barnet defender could only turn in to his own net. The 2nd goal came from quick thinking from Ciaran Foster and Ryan Franklin. The 8ths had a throw in on the half way line which Ciaran took quickly releasing Ryan behind the East Barnet defence, Ryan then squared the ball to unmarked Harry Sach who chipped the ball over the East Barnet keeper making it 2.0. The 8ths added 2 more goals through Ryan Franklin in the 2nd half as they continued to dominate and were unlucky not to score more. Everyone had a good game again this week including subs Archie Bostock coming on at RB looked comfortable on the ball and nothing went past him, Joe Nelson coming on, constantly pressed the the East Barnet defenders forcing them into mistakes and Juan Tenerio on the left looked dangerous constantly getting in behind the East Barnet back four. Harry Sach and George Maskell constantly switching positions in the 1st half also gave the opposition problems and Terry Blue and Francis Conlan looked solid in midfield, also Ciaran Foster filling in midfield looked solid in the 2nd half. Finally the back 4 of Sonny, Richard, Joe.M, Ciaran & Archie (2nd half) was quality this week, never gave Barnet any space and once they won the ball they used it well playing to feet starting off attacks. Any one of them could of got M.O.T.M but Sonny Baldwin gets it this week for solid performance. Bring on the final!
