Extra time Winner!
The 8ths had the majority of the possession but couldn't create too many clear cut chances. The HSBC back four was well organised and whenever the 8ths managed to break through, HSBC's keeper was on good form saving well and claiming every cross or corner. 8ths however didn't drop their heads and continued to play there game. In the start of extra time Parms made a little change switching Mike Diebelius on the left wing giving more freedom to him to cut inside and run in behind the HSBC back four. This change gave the Parms the break through they deserved as Mike Diebelius cut inside the penalty area and ran towards the byline before being brought down by the HSBC defender, Penalty! Ryan Franklin sent the keep the wrong way from the spot and the 8ths looked comfortable hanging on to a 1.0 win. Special mentions goes to the back four of Richard, Andy, Joe and Man of the Match Sonny who noting was going past for the 120 minutes. Ciaran Foster filling in at holding midfield had a great game too and was another choice for Man of the Match, Mike Diebelius who never stopped running at defenders despite being hacked down a few times and got rewarded by winning the penalty, Ben Davidson who made a couple of really good saves especially one which deflected off a defender and finally Ryan Franklin who had a tough game against a strong back four never gave up and worked hard upfront on his own. Well done everyone! A win this week in the OB Cup v Owens and we are in a semi final!
