Strong home side shades it

How cruel football can be. Parms twice closed two goal deficits, completing the second comeback in the 88th minute, only to see a mazy dribble and finish from Manorians’ best player broke the hearts of the visitors. A slow start saw Manorians twice get behind the Parms defence to provide tap ins at the back post, only for Mike Morgan to snap up a poor back pass to finish emphatically and put Parms back in it. As the visitors improved, Sami Bekir played Chris Scherer in down the left hand side, who in turn raced into the area and curled into the top corner in a fashion that is becoming familiar. The tide appeared to be turning, but not for the last time in the game Manorians re-established their lead, a corner cannoning off the bar for an unmarked man to fire home. A free-kick emphatically dispatched against the run of second half play put Manorians well and truly in the driving seat. Just as all seemed lost, Adem Bekir scrambled home a goal to give Parms a chance in the last 10 minutes. Manorians sat deep expecting the onslaught and when Scherer volleyed over it looked like the game might be up. At what seemed like the death, Adam Newman found space on the edge of the Manorians box and slipped in Brendan Kelly, who ran onto the ball and curled an equaliser into the top corner to cue the celebrations. Unfortunately, the visitors’ smiles turned to despair barely two minutes later as a crazy finish saw them dumped out of the AFA Cup in incredible circumstances.
