Battling Draw!
Tough game for the 8ths and their first draw of the season. The 8ths dominated possession and pushed hard to get the winner but had to settle with a draw. The first half started slow. The wet and windy conditions didn't help the 8ths and Enfield played a lot of long balls and clearances off the pitch which slowed the game down. The best move of the first half got the 8ths the lead. It was a well worked and quick counter attack which started off on the half way line on the left with Ryan Franklin switching play to the right, Ciaran Foster then played Harry Sach (Oscar) through who cut back on to his left foot and curled the ball bottom corner in off the post. 1.0 first half. In the 2nd half Enfield started quickly. Within the first 5 minutes they had 2/3 shots blocked but then finally forced it in when the 8ths really should of cleared earlier. After this the 8ths again began to dominate possession and play and were turned down a stonewall penalty when Harry Sach flicked the ball pass the defender and got completely taken out with a high tackle, but the referee played on. The 8ths also had a few more chances from corners and good play on the wings with balls going in to the box, but just could not get the winner today and the game ended 1.1. Man of the Match was Harry Sach, always made himself available for the ball, scored our goal and should of also got a penalty. Lets get back to winning ways in the cup next week!
