Getting closer to that win
An end to end game that had lots of drama and shows further evidence of the 5th team's progression. The game started brightly for Old Parms with Cris and Ugo working well up front and causing the opposition CB's trouble. And it was Cris that opened the scoring with a great strike that arrowed into the bottom corner after patient build up play. However Old Parms dropped their intensity and lost their shape, which let Egbertian back into the game. They scored 5 minutes after our goal when we lost possession in our half. Old Parms showed the character and spirit in the team to take the lead again. A quality corner delivery from Scott Swinton saw Ugo Egenamba direct a powerful header past the Egbertian keeper. The 2nd half was eventful to say the least. Egbertian drew the game level early in the 2nd half after a harmless shot saw the ball bobble over a mound on the pitch and above Daniel Sibley's dive. Both teams kept attacking but Old Parms should have won the game with numerous chances; Arnaud Salla, Elliot Davies and Jake Pursey all going close. However the biggest moment of the match came on the 80th minute, when Cris Dulca was put through one on one, rounded the keeper and was brought down. No penalty was given to the surprise of both teams. Egbertian also had a penalty appeal and Daniel Sibley made some great saves in the 2nd half as well. A good point for Old Parms to get their season running and the progression each week has been magnificent. Well played Old Parms
