A Few Things to Put Right

A disappointing day for Parmiterians gave them some food for thought on an afternoon when they never really set their mark on the game. The first half started evenly, with a chance falling to C.Spicer and Globe also showing their pace and strength in attack. Parms held their back line well, communicating and working hard, so the frustration was clear to see when Globe capitalised on a long kick from their keeper and headed in from a ball that should have been won by Parms. Chances fell to Parms in the second half, with Spicer taking a great first touch and skimming the crossbar with his shot. A penalty shout did not go Parms' way, when B.Dushku had his legs taken from behind in the penalty box. There was more frustration when Globe doubled their lead; a simple, but effective, block from their CM prevented Parms from marking tight and gave the Globe CF a free run to head powerfully into the net. Heads did not drop, with L.Luck and J.Tapper both involving themselves well and making promising debuts in a hard first match for their club. There's some positives to take from the game - the scoreline flattered the opposition, with their final goal coming in injury time whilst Parms threw everyone up in attack. It's rare for this Parms team to concede two headers, so that needs to be rectified, but the squad size and strength is getting to where it needs to be now, with the addition of two good new players. All still to play for, with two big cup games on the bounce.
