Albanians sneak last second win
A great cup game ended with a killer blow for Old Parms in the last second of extra time. Old Parms were starting with their new 3-5-2 formation, which was a great success. The first half was overwhelmingly dominated by Old Parms; controlling the ball and forcing Albanians to sit deep in their half. However with one of the only few chances they had in the whole game, Albanians scored from a great long range strike around the 15 minute mark. Old Parms kept playing and probing Albanians without creating clear cut chances. The second half started as the first half ended, with Old Parms dominating the ball until Arnaud Salla scored from outside the box with a long range strike after great build up play. After the goal Old Parms kept probing but lost the intensity of play from the first half, which allowed Albanians to get hold of the ball more. Old Parms retreated deeper into their half, struggling to get their rhythm back. However Simon Wycliffe had a great effort, curling a shot from outside the box against the top of the crossbar. Extra time was a struggle physically for both teams. However Old Parms had a great chance to win it, with Elliot Davies unlucky to put a one-on-one straight into the keepers hands. Unfortunately, in the last second of extra time, Albanians floated a corner in which drifted past all the players and sneaked into the far corner. A great effort from both teams and a very good performance for Old Parms to build on.
