Seventh heaven!

The 4th XI opened their season at home to a Salvatorians side that proved tough opposition 2 years ago; there was no such toil this time as a farcical opening half saw Parms open up a 5 goal lead against only 8 players. Sami Bekir opened the scoring in the tenth minute, put through by his brother Adem, whose man-of-the-match performance saw him add a few more assists to that. Chris Scherer then forged his own chance down the left before delicately chipping into the far corner. By the 16th minute Adem Bekir had found his brother in the area again to make it 3-0 and followed that up a minute later by feeding Mike Morgan who has taken his impressive pre-season form into the season proper. Then there was a gap as Salvatorians gained a few players, but to no avail as Carl Staines’ cross found Scherer at the back post, who made it 5-0 by half-time. Despite the score line, there was room for improvement with Parms’ ball retention and their 2nd half performance saw them improve that. There was enough time for Staines to put Morgan through brilliantly, who finished cooly, after great approach play from Parms and Morgan completed his hat-trick after an accurate ball over the top from Adam Newman saw Morgan through on goal again. Manager Colin Staines praised the attitude of the team in dispatching the opposition quickly in the 1st half to ensure the points and send a message out to the rest of the league. Parms are back at Douglas Eyre on next weekend against Woodhouseians.
