Quality show when understrength

Stand-in capt B.Dushku said “play passing football & trust each other”, Parms did just that. E.Malaveci's perfect free-kick allowed C.Hallowell to power a header just over the bar & the work-rate & pace from K.Gwendu kept the Beals defence under constant pressure. Parms took a deserved lead when J.Collins played a perfectly weighted pass to Dushku, who calmly slotted the ball across the GK. Parms continued with some good football, notably from R.Thomas in the midfield. On the stroke of half-time E.McWilliams & E.Macauley didn’t get right what they'd been doing so well for the previous 44 mins & Beals capitalised on their first clear-cut chance. The 2nd half was more open, both teams showing attacking intent & the game moving from end to end. After 10 mins, N.Wing and L.Vickers were replaced by Tyson & C.Spicer. Vickers’ extra holiday weight clearly taking its toll. Spicer shot powerfully at the GK, a sign of the quality shown previously in a Parms’ shirt. Neither side could get a grip on the game & on 65 mins Beals capitalised on Parms’ failure to clear a ball, A.Bensley left helpless against a shot from 12 yards. McWilliams did his best ‘Scottish’ accent to get things going, Collins listened &, with 10 mins left, beat 3 players in a carbon copy of the 1st half, to play in Dushku who struck to level the scores. Collins then cut inside onto his right foot & placed an audacious, curling lob over the GK from 22 yards, sealing a great 3-2 victory. Dick of the Day...E.Malaveci!!!
