Much better display from everyone

The final preseason match for the Old Parmiterians 1st team saw them up against newly promoted side Shene Old Grammarianis. Starts were handed to Scott Thomas, Chris Skingley and Ellis Ashworth who formed part of a new look defensive team line up. The opening period saw Parmiterians enjoy greater possession as they played a more fluid passing game. Shene were continually denied space and struggled to get a foothold in the game as Parmiterians showed greater organization, working the ball well and pressing high up the pitch. The breakthrough came after the first beak, in the 35th minute, with Joe Mariani opening up the scoring for Parmiterians. A change in personnel for Parms saw impetus given back to Shene temporarily as Parms adopted a more offensive 3, 4, 3 formation The latter stages of the game saw Parmiterians turn up the pressure on their opponents taking the game by the scruff of the neck. Shene seem to suffer in the mid afternoon heat and were undone repeatedly as Parmiterians mounted several quick attacks in succession. A late second half hat trick from youngster Andrew Boadi, coming in a 15 minute spell, effectively killed the game off. Scott Moore scored a 5th goal to round off what was, in the end, a comfortable afternoon’s work and a satisfactory end to preseason for the Parms.
