A well earned 3 points
Parmiterians' great run of form continued with a solid 2-0 win against a good team. Aloysians knew the importance of this match and showed they were keen to make a battle of it; the appalling conditions underfoot didn't help either team, but certainly made attractive, flowing football difficult. Chris & I.Toko were a constant threat up front & deservedly broke the deadlock on the half hour mark. The goal was created due to three outstanding challenges in the middle of the pitch, won consecutively by N.Wing, E.McWilliams & E.Macaulay; the ball was then played to Toko who squared perfectly for a neat finish. Parms began to dominate, with the 3-5-2 formation continuing to work well. A.Bensley was superb in goal, showing a safe set of hands at all times and making himself very difficult to beat on the two occasions when Aloysians threatened to score. What's more impressive, however, is that he can neck a pint in a couple of seconds...he'll fit in very well to this Parms team! The away side had to work hard in the second half & the players put in a decent shift, communicating well & doing their best to play football down the flanks. T.Quinn was instrumental in CM & L.Vickers made a real impact when he came on, helping out in defence & setting up Toko with a well weighted pass. The finish was calm & assured. A special mention to E.Malaveci for playing with a bad case of man-flu...great effort!!! Parms know the next target - a win to keep the pressure on the other title challengers.
