Nine, a special number for the reserves

There are some games that come to define a team's season, that display a group's chrysalis from potential to finished article; the Reserve XI will be hoping this is their watershed moment. There is much of the season to go and a drop in concentration could still see their impressive start to the season become a false dawn, but if they can continue to bring this level of performance each week then they will stand a good chance of achieving something this season. Billed as a match that required a top performance to overcome tricky opponents who have often ruffled Old Parmiterians' feathers, they delivered in the most emphatic fashion. A customary slow start was dealt with by being defensively compact to deny Manorians chances on goal to allow the home side to grow into the game. A couple of chances had already been spurned by the time Jake King drew the attention of the visiting defence one way like a matador, before finding Zach Kinnell-Harry's run in the opposite direction, the latter beating the keeper to the ball to open the scoring. A few minutes later Kinnell-Harry turned provider to release Charlie Heath to do what he inevitably does, translating the home side's possessional dominance into something tangible. Manorians struggled to keep pace and began to tire as the half wore on. Just before the break Heath dropped deeper to collect the ball, with Kinnell-Harry seamlessly taking his spot up top, with Heath's chipped pass over the top trapped by Kinnell-Harry, who again beat the onrushing keeper with a sliding finish. Not finshed with the first half demolition, Atiba Jackson lofted a beautiful pass over the visitors' high line for Heath to race clear and effectively finish the game before the interval. Not even a dubious penalty decision which allowed Manorians to pull one back after the break halted the juggernaut, as shortly after Adam Newman's left footed through ball down the line once again caught out the high defensive line to allow Heath to go one-on-one with the last Manorians defender. After bamboozling him, Heath dispatched a third to complete his hat-trick. Kinnell-Harry's wizardry set Heath free again seven minutes later to score his 22nd league goal, and 27th overall from a fruitful campaign so far. His replacement, James White, was the next on the score sheet, with Josep Mari unselfishly squaring to him for an easy finish. White has now scored on each occasion he has played for the Reserve XI this season. Captain Chris Scherer then got in on the act, fresh from a long range hat-trick for the 5th XI last week in the LOB Cup, his long range cruise missile had the keeper scrambling and ultimately failing to keep his effort out. With the other two substitutes, Adem Bekir and Mehdi Krissane, impressively rising off the bench to bring about an iron like grip on the game, the latter put the final word on a great team performance. Getting on to his own through ball Krissane cheekily lobbed the keeper, underlining the quality on display.
